Bye Bye Boobie

Today is the first time since her birth that La Bimba has not breastfed at all. I believe she might be weaned. Mixed feelings? Not a one. Go, individuation, go!

Brava La Bimba - and brava you of course.

I've heard about kids breast feeding until they have teeth here. Now, I don't know much about breast feeding, but that seems a bit wrong to me.

Since babies can get teeth at as early as 4 months (like La Bimba did), it's actually the norm to breastfeed children with teeth. The world average is until 4.5 YEARS. It all comes down to what foods are available, how hard of a time the mom or the baby has, how comfortable the mom feels, how comfortable the surrounding culture is and thus behaves. It shouldn't be so complicated, but it is. I had a great run, but it's good to have my body be mine again.

weh Rompi, I laughed so much today reading your whole Blog. I am a Scot in Sicily with a Sicilian husband so I understand just what you're talking about. I just love your sense of humour. Thank you.
